Short answer

The CTV Addendum defines exact extension locations for each VAST version. VAST 2.0 uses InLine Extensions for UniversalAdId, Mezzanine, InteractiveCreativeFile and Icon. VAST 3.0 uses CreativeExtensions for the first three. The richer SIMID CreativeExtension is also supported on VAST 4.x. OMID AdVerifications extensions apply to VAST 2.0, 3.0 and 4.0.

Why this matters in production

This rule is a strong risk signal. Tags with this issue often still parse, but they become brittle across SDKs, SSAI resolvers, and CTV environments. These rules validate supplied standardized payloads carried in legacy VAST extensions. Correct version and location handling preserves compatibility while checking ID registries, mezzanine assets, SIMID payloads and creative bindings. Optional addendum features remain optional. Affected scope: VAST 2.0 and later (all versions).
